The 24th Yarra Junction Fiddlers’ Convention will be held at the usual venue, Camp Eureka, a bushland setting an hour from Melbourne Vic.
Bluegrass and Ol’ Timey musicians camp for the weekend to catch up with friends, play music and enjoys dances and performances for three days from 20th to 22nd Feb 2009.
‘Camp Eurek’, now over 60 years old, is the last surviving campsite in Australia used by the Eureka Communist League. The Campsite in the Yarra Ranges was originally a farmhouse of which only the barn remains. The land was given to the Eureka Communist League in 1945.
Head over to ‘Camp Eureka’ and find yourself a bit of cleared bush, set up camp and commence to picking. This is a rustic festival atmosphere for lovers of both music and camping. Yarra Junction Convention features old-timey, bluegrass concerts, workshops, lots of jamming and dances.

Hi all,
Left this info on another post, but if you are not aware i got a reply from the Blackwood van park that it is all booked out and they are taking people for camping in Trentham ($5 per person per night). If this is not right could someone please advise otherwise. Looking doubtful that i will catch up with all the friends this year!
Hi
Margot, does this mean the date has changed for this event? Originally it was the coming WE of the 20 to 23 of Feb. You are writing about March now. Is this correct? Location and date move?
Thanks – Henry

Hello, does anyone know if the fiddlers convention will still be held on the 20th this year due to the bushfires?
Will the festival go ahead considering the bushfires in the area?
Yes the Festival is still planned for the weekend of the 20 to 23rd Feb 2009.
The camp site remains unaffected by the Bunyip Ridge Fires.
