Wirrina Bluegrass Festival, Friday 26th to Sunday 28th November 2021, at Wirrina Cove Holiday Park
With several states now lifting restrictions and opening up for travel, some of our regular festivals are forging ahead with their dates and plans.
Wirrina is one such festivals and has released the following this week:
Hello friends, we have a very fine weekend of acoustic music planned for all of us. Book your tickets and plan some time away – hope to see you down there.
Quick summary: concerts running Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Campsites can be booked for before and after the festival so that you can come early, stay on after the festival and play, spend time with friends, take walks or drives, and visit the surrounding area. Festival office will not open until later on Friday, but you can check in for camping separately from this.
This year, our range of sessions will reflect some of the traditions that came before (and informed) the roots of Bluegrass, with the Scottish Fiddle Club, an Irish traditional session with Pat Organ & Liam Flynn, as well as Appalachian-style fiddle tunes in sessions. This is, of course, in addition to Bluegrass sessions, and workshops including traditional Bluegrass instruments.
More details of led sessions and workshops coming soon.
A few things we’ve been asked:
This year our site will be arranged a bit differently – look out for a new map, and be prepared for a different layout, which we hope will work really well to keep activities in convenient locations. We will have marquees with a roof to provide projection from the elements, but sides will be rolled up to increase ventilation. Some activities will take place outdoors, and some under the open veranda. All subject to adjustment as required under the circumstances.Yes there is a bar on site (the kiosk is licensed, and stocks local wine, bees and perhaps a few other things, at moderate cost).
Yes it would help us very much if you buy your tickets online before you come to the festival. Accommodation is booked separately through the caravan park.
It would help if an address was published
