Wiranna Bluegrass Festival

by | 5 May, 2012

Here’s news of a new bluegrass festival for South Australia in September this year.

South Australia has just become a lot more interesting this September with plans to launch the inaugural Wirrina Bluegrass Festival. The Wirrina Bluegrass Festival is scheduled for  7th to the 9th September 2012 and is presented by the Yankalilla Acoustic Music group.

Over the last forty years Bluegrass music in South Australia has become increasingly popular and has a strong grassroots following.  South Australian bluegrass bands Old South Bluegrass, Cripple Creek, Tombstone String Band and The Cherry Pickers will headline the program.

Wirrina Resort, 90km south of Adelaide, offers an excellent festival location where musicians and audience can find accommodation, food and an opportunity to perform and listen in a range of venues.
