Over a hundred people enjoyed the performance last Sunday night by the Whitetop Mountaineers, direct from the Blue Ridge Mountain’s of the USA.
It was a full house at Gippsland’s ARC Yinnar, as the crowd was treated to the talents of Martha Spencer and Jackson Cunningham, a young ol’ timey duo, whose performance consisted of close-harmony, country singing, bluesy mandolin and guitar, old time fiddle and clawhammer banjo tunes, and flatfoot dancing which amazed the crowd.
The support act for the night was the Strzelecki Stringbusters, and the night concluded with a hearty singalong, with Martha and Jackson joining the Stringbusters to lead You are my Sunshine and I’ll Fly Away.
The Mountaineers continue their tour of Australia and are booked for many music festivals around the country.
