We See Love and Castlerock Turnpike Two New Releases From Daniel Grindstaff.
Daniel Grindstaff and his world-class band The Uptown Troubadours are gearing up for their next album with the release of two brand-new Bluegrass singles, available now on all digital and streaming platforms.
The emotional, heartfelt We See Love and the hard-driving instrumental Castlerock Turnpike offer a powerful preview of the upcoming self-titled full-length project Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours, set for release on 20th March 2026.
We See Love is a moving, mid-tempo song that celebrates faith, character, sacrifice, and the enduring power of love. Written by Rick Lang and Jim Grubbs, the song immediately stood out to Grindstaff for its sincerity and emotional depth.
My friend and talented songwriter, Rick Lang, was kind enough to pitch We See Love to me for our new project, I love how the lyrics celebrate the importance of real love, sacrifice, character, and faith above all else Daniel Grindstaff.
The recording features a stirring lead vocal from Kevin Richardson, joined by Grindstaff’s banjo playing, with standout performances by Derek Deakins on fiddle and Kent Blanton on bass, along with guest appearances from Shawn Lane on tenor harmony, Andy Leftwich on mandolin and Josh Swift on Dobro.
In contrast, Castlerock Turnpike is a fiery, banjo-driven instrumental that highlights the collective expertise of The Uptown Troubadours while honoring one of Grindstaff’s biggest influences. Written by Grindstaff himself, the tune takes its name from a nickname given to him by Bluegrass legend Jimmy Martin.
While writing this tune, I felt that its driving rhythm, melody, and feel made it a fitting way to honor his influence on my playing – Daniel Grindstaff.
The track features Kevin Richardson on guitar, Derek Deakins on fiddle, Kent Blanton on bass, and special guest Johnathan Dillon of the award-winning Red Camel Collective on mandolin, creating a must-hear instrumental showcase.
Both singles appear on Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours, a 10-track collection that blends new originals, reimagined classics, and chart-topping favorites. In addition to We See Love and Castlerock Turnpike, the album includes two No. 1 radio hits: Angel Dream, Daniel’s Bluegrass interpretation of the Tom Petty classic, and the powerful chart-topper The Death of John Henry, featuring Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart.
Additional highlights include a Bluegrass reimagining of Kenny Loggins’ Danny’s Song, the Gospel-tinged and uplifting A Little Goes A Long Way, and contributions from other acclaimed songwriters like Larry Gatlin, Tim Stafford, Jim and Lynna Woolsey, Larry Sparks and more.
