Bluegrass Mandolin and Bluegrass Guitar lessons at Twang Central Guitars

Paul Thompson will be teaching Bluegrass Mandolin or Bluegrass Guitar at TwangCentral Guitars. Lessons are one-on-one and include lesson notes and cost $35 per 45 minute lesson. Lessons can range from the complete beginner to the more advanced techniques depending upon your skill level and desire.

TwangCentral Guitars also have a wide range of acoustic and electric guitars and also mandolins.

Purchasing a Mandolin

TwangCentral has recently acquired two new Eastman F5 Mandolins which are truly worth a look and listen. These mandolins are truly beautiful hand-made instruments that would suit not only a beginner but a regular performing mandolin player. I think they are about $1600-$1700 but you can confirm that and get a good price from Terry O’Riley or Nick Cawthorne who manage the store. Twang also have a selection of beginners mandolins at lower prices and Nick and Terry can advise the best ones to suit your needs. TwangCentral also stock D’Addario mandolin strings which I would recommend as the best overall tone. (Strings designed for lute-backed mandolins often do not sound good for Bluegrass Music).

Purchasing a Guitar

TwangCentral is the home of Martin Guitars, but also stocks a wide range of other guitars including the full range of Taylor instruments. Both Nick and Terry are professional performing musicians and would be able to advise you of the guitar to purchase. TwangCentral also have a good range of Guitar strings, capos, tuners and picks.

If your taste is tends to that of a connoisseur then TwangCentral have a range of classic and vintage instruments. These include vintage Martins and a superb Gallagher guitar as played by Doc Watson.
