Australian by birth and now based in Nashville, Tenn., Aussie guitarist Tommy Emmanuel regularly has audiences in awe.
Emmanuel began playing music at a young age, touring professionally as part of his family’s band at age 6. He was riveted by the playing of Nashville legend Chet Atkins, and dutifully studied his recordings. Atkins would later record with Emmanuel, and bestow upon him his Certified Guitar Player tag.
Tommy recently released a live performance DVD that doubled as a PBS television special, now airing throughout the country. He has 16 recordings under his name, including his latest, an album of guitar duets with Frank Vignola (heard earlier playing with Mark O’Connor) called Just Between Frets.
