by | 10 Sep, 2008

thirroul-jam1On the 3rd Saturday of every month, the Seaside town of Thirroul NSW comes alive with the sound of Bluegrass!

Now into its 3rd year of meeting, the Thirroul Bluegrass Jam, is a warm and welcoming session for beginners and experienced bluegrass pickers alike. The Thirroul Bluegrass Jam also has regulars who come along to listen or just sing along.

The Jam was set in motion after a couple of local South Coast bands thought it would be great to get together for a jam session now and again, a suitable location was found and before long word got out and the monthly jam just got bigger and bigger. Numbers attending vary from month to month, with the last session seeing about 3o odd pickers converging on the little hall.

The Thirroul Bluegrass Jam Night is held in the Thirroul Community Hall, Lawrence Hargrave Dr Thirroul NSW from 7.30pm till late, and is hosted by local dobro picker and bass thumper Mark Ballesi. It costs $3 to attend, and includes all the picking you can handle along with light refreshments.

The next session is on Saturday the 20th of September- Hope to see you there.
