The Stetson Family To Release Their Next Album – The Stars, If You Look Closely.

The Stetson Family have just completed their next recording project, The Stars, If You Look Closely. The new album will launch with two big shows, one at The Brunswick Ballroom, Vic, and the other in Archie’s Creek Hotel, Archies Creek, Vic.

The Stetsons will be joined by South Australian duo, The Yearlings for both shows.

It’s been nine years since our last album, but like a slow train coming, The Stars, If You Look Closely, is a welcome sight. It comprises all original songs, including two songs left unfinished by our late buddy and mandolin player, Andy Carswell, who left this world in 2016 – The Stetsons.

About The Stetson Family:

The Stetson FamilyThe Stetson Family walk the line between alt-country and bluegrass with their free-wheeling, spirited songs, awash with soaring harmonies. Described in American Songwriter Magazine as “champions of fresh bluegrass but with a bedraggled soul of rock and roots,” the band takes their audience on a journey down life’s crooked highway.

Long-time friends Nad Budge, John Bartholomeusz and Colin Swan started playing music together in a synth-pop band during the mid 80s. They found themselves supporting the likes of The Eurythmics, The Monkees and John Farnham. They eventually swapped their synths (and mullets) for proper instruments and, in 2008, teamed up with John’s childhood buddy from the valley, Andy Carswell (My Friend the Chocolate Cake), and Luke Richardson, the guy who worked in the hardware store across the road from Nad. So began The Stetson Family.
