The Burnett Sisters Band Release The Song of the Mountains,
The Burnett Sisters Band have just released their brand-new single, The Song of the Mountains, a chilling and thought-provoking ballad that touches on the shifting identity in Appalachia. It’s the latest release from their upcoming full-length album Easy Come, Easy Go, which is set for release this October.
Then new track blends haunting melodies with emotional weight and marks another bold step forward in the group’s artistic evolution. The single is out now on all digital and streaming platforms.

Song of the Mountains is a piece that was written in reflection of the small towns in Appalachia evolving and progressing over time. What used to be quiet and quaint villages, even in the last few years, are now loud and buzzing populations; some mountain towns are in a sense losing the magic that once made them so unique and special – says band member Anissa Burnett.
Within the song, Anneli sheds light on her daddy’s frustration with the overpopulation in her hometown, and how she’s learned not to take the little things for granted.
Penned by band members Anneli Burnett and Geary Allen, The Song of the Mountains paints a vivid portrait of a changing landscape, and culture slowly being overtaken by modern noise. Her storytelling, carried by heartfelt vocals and raw emotion, brings a sharp intimacy to the song’s message. It follows the success of the band’s previous single, Sorrow Grief and Pain, (see video below) which spent seven weeks on the Bluegrass Today Grassicana AirPlay Chart, peaking at No. 3, and also hit No. 2 on the Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart.
Additionally, the Burnett Sisters Band was recently announced as an official IBMA Showcase Artist and will appear in Chattanooga, TN this September during the annual IBMA World of Bluegrass conference.

Known for their powerful family harmonies and genre-defying style, The Burnett Sisters Band features siblings Anissa, Sophia, and Anneli Burnett, alongside acclaimed singer, songwriter, and guitar extraordinaire Geary Allen. The project features 10 tracks, including seven original songs penned by Allen, along with a few fresh renditions of traditional classics.
