High Fidelity’s New Single The Lonesome Road. The 2nd Single From their Forthcoming Album
Rebel Records has announced the release of The Lonesome Road, High Fidelity’s second single off of its recently announced forthcoming album Never Say Goodbye.

The Lonesome Road
The Lonesome Road is a song that began with a simple exploration of the music that has influenced the band and led to the discovery of a song the group believes has never before been recorded in bluegrass.
Many of the artists and groups who have influenced High Fidelity were themselves deeply influenced by the Delmore Brothers, whose songs and recordings have become an important part of the bluegrass tradition. While exploring her Delmores’ repertoire one day, fiddler Corrina Rose Logston Stephens came across The Lonesome Road. When she listened to the song, she immediately thought it could be something unique for High Fidelity.
Further research revealed that the song dates back to 1927, when it was recorded by popular singer and recording artist of the time Gene Austin. From there, High Fidelity began its usual process of studying the song’s lyrics, melody and chord structure before crafting an arrangement of its own.
The recording is built around Jeremy Stephens’ guitar and lead vocal, with Corrina’s fiddle and harmony vocal adding both lift and texture. Kurt Stephenson’s banjo and Daniel Amick’s mandolin complete the acoustic framework, while guest bassist Norbert McGettigan III provides the foundation underneath the arrangement. The result is a performance that feels firmly rooted in bluegrass while retaining the character of a song written nearly a century ago.
This is our 100% High Fidelity arrangement of a song that, to our knowledge, has never been done in bluegrass before. We hope you like it – Jeremy Stephens, bandleader.
The new release, The Lonesome Road follows the album’s first single, Red Ball Rocket Train and continues High Fidelity’s tradition of uncovering and reimagining songs with deep roots in bluegrass and country music. The new single is available now from this link.

About High Fidelity:
High Fidelity carries the power and soul of classic bluegrass from the 1950s and ’60s into the present day, drawing direct inspiration from artists like Don Reno & Red Smiley, The Stanley Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, and Jim & Jesse. This devotion is reflected even in the band’s name, echoing the high fidelity label once proudly stamped on records of that era. Formed in early 2014, the group won first place in the International Band Championship at the 40th Annual SPBGMA Awards that same year and earned three consecutive IBMA New Artist of the Year nominations.
The lineup features Jeremy Stephens on guitar, banjo and lead vocals, Corrina Rose Logston Stephens on fiddle and harmony vocals, Kurt Stephenson on 5-string banjo and harmony vocals and Daniel Amick on multiple instruments and harmony vocals. Daniel Amick was the winner of IBMA’s 2019 Instrumentalist of the Year Momentum Award.
Often compared to the Johnson Mountain Boys for the way they channel classic-era bluegrass through a fresh, modern lens, High Fidelity has won over audiences of every generation, from grandparents to grandchildren alike.
