“The Gavel’ tells a gripping tale and is so well written by Nashville’s Jordan Rainer and Lance Carpenter. This is the third Jordan Rainer co-write we’ve recorded and as long as she keeps sending them, we will keep recording them. Her songs really dial in to what works with our unique brand of bluegrass music and we just love digging into them in the studio. We hope y’all love this one as much as we do -Steve Wilson.
As previously mentioned, The Gavel was crafted by Nashville based singer/songwriter Jordan Rainer, a finalist on NBC’s The Voice, representing Team Reba in the most recent season. The track was co-written by Lance Carpenter who has worked with Country superstars like Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Kelsea Ballerini, Jelly Roll and countless others.
The new single brings together the combination of world-class musician Steve Wilson with the compelling lead vocals of fellow Wilson Banjo Co. member Sarah Logan. The lyrics capture the journey from love’s embrace, all the way to the chilling confines of a jail cell. Listeners can experience the bold, intriguing melody, combined with an evocative narrative that is sure to make it stand out in the current music scene. The cut is already generating buzz and was added into early rotation on SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction.
Wilson Banjo Co. brought The Gavel to life in such a beautiful way This is the whole reason I write songs, to hear how artists would interpret them. The production, the instrumentation, and of course the chilling vocals on this make me so proud to be a part of this piece of bluegrass art – Jordan Rainer.
Wilson Banjo Co. has created a great amount of hype as they gear up for their full-length LP, Memory Lane.
