The Chilli Pickers Play The Lomond Hotel, East Brunswick For The First Time.
If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of seeing The Chilli Pickers playing around the folk and bluegrass friendly bars of Melbourne in the last few years, you’ll can see them in action this Sunday (16th March) at the Lomond. The band will play two sets from 5:00pm.
United by the music of Doc Boggs, Ola Belle Reed, Gillian Welch, The Horseflies and Elizabeth LaPrelle. The intertwining of fiddle and banjo, haunting vocal harmonies, and lyrics that are both timeless and true, make this band mesmerising and energising in equal parts, like moonshine and mountain dew.
Featuring veteran Melbourne musicians Jane McCracken on vocals and guitar, Kate Connor on fiddle and harmonies (Devil Goat Family String Band, Andy Baylor), Gus Macmillan on banjo (Blue Grassy Knoll and Devil Goat Family String Band) and Keith Urquhart on Double Bass.
