C.J. Lewandowski Releases New Single: She’s No Angel.
Turnberry Records has just announced the release to radio of She’s No Angel, the emotionally charged new single from C.J. Lewandowski and Del McCoury, featuring Ronnie McCoury. This version of the Osborne Brothers and Red Allen classic is the fourth single from the upcoming tribute album Keep On Keepin’ On from Bobby Osborne, C.J. Lewandowski & Friends, scheduled for release on August 22, 2025.
More than just a new take on a bluegrass staple, She’s No Angel serves as a deeply personal turning point for Lewandowski, who began recording the album with the late Bobby Osborne before his passing.
When Bobby passed, I was at a loss. I wanted to give up on what we had accomplished in the studio. I didn’t want to hear his voice. I was contemplating quitting music altogether – C.J. Lewandowski.
That all changed at the 2023 IBMA Awards Show, where Lewandowski reluctantly participated in a tribute performance for Bobby. What happened backstage that night would change everything.
I turned the corner backstage and Del, Ronnie, and Rob McCoury were jamming with Bobby Jr., playing old Osborne Brothers songs. Del started singing She’s No Angel and I jumped in on the low part while Bobby Jr. took his dad’s part. It was so inspiring. Bobby Jr. mentioned getting Del and the boys involved in the album, and that’s when it hit me: I had something I needed to finish – C.J. Lewandowski.
Within minutes, Lewandowski tracked down Del’s manager and pitched the idea. That spontaneous backstage moment lit a fire in him to complete the project he’d nearly abandoned.
This project would never have been completed if it weren’t for that night in Raleigh. I say it a lot because it’s true. Bobby may not be here in the physical, but someone with energy that powerful doesn’t just disappear. He was there that night to give me the kickstart I needed – C.J. Lewandowski.
Featuring Del McCoury’s iconic vocals, Ronnie McCoury’s masterful mandolin, along with C.J. Lewandowski, Bobby Osborne, Jr., Wynn Osborne and Aynsley Porchak, She’s No Angel is available to radio now from Get It Played and will be released on all digital music platforms on June 6th.

Recording and editing was by Dave Maggard at Sound Biscuit Productions in Sevierville, Tennessee, while mastering was done by Dave Polster at Well Made Music in Bristol, Virginia.

C.J. Lewandowski is a GRAMMY-nominated mandolin player and the founder of the bluegrass ensemble, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys. Lewandowski’s contributions to bluegrass music were recently highlighted in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s American Currents: State of the Music exhibition in 2024, where his artifacts were displayed alongside those of his mentor, Bobby Osborne.
