We received a note from Ross this week who tells us that he is running a workshop in Sydney next month.
The workshop is aimed at intermediate students who would like to raise their skill level and get more direction. Beginners are welcome and encouraged. Beginners could come and take notes and should come away from the workshop inspired with a much clearer understanding of what needs to be done.
The workshop will help students simplify common obstacles unique to learning 5-string banjo and help them with their practice habits, goals and direction. The Workshop will also cover learning about using chords, basic improvising, jamming with others and reducing dependency on tablature. Other topics covered include exercises and drills, picking, timing, memorizing, improvising, jamming skills, and backup.
Proceeds of this project support community radio station 2RRR 88.5FM.
Workshop details:
Saturday, 7th May, 10:00am to 4:30pm
The Gladesville Community Centre, 44 Gladesville Road, Hunters Hill NSW 2110
