DownRiver Collective Release Restless Heart, From a Forthcoming Album.
DownRiver Collective has released their second single Restless Heart, from a forthcoming album.
The reigning 2024 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Momentum Band Award recipient has completed an outstanding full length album, expected to release in its entirety this Fall.
Joey Black, Programmer and Host of SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction, premiered this new release, Restless Heart, on June 19th, with an exclusive band interview. The single was written by band members John Gray and Ali Vance and offers insight into the roller coaster of emotions felt by someone suffering from depression.
Restless Heart features Ali Vance on lead vocals, Bailey Warren, John Gray Zahurancik on harmony vocals, Jonny Therrien on guitar, Rico Wallenda on mandolin, John Gray Zahurancik on 5 string banjo, Eli Broxham on bass and Bailey Warren (Zahurancik) on fiddle.
The band has been busy on the road this Spring, currently in Washington State performing at the Wenatchee Bluegrass Festival. In May, they won the coveted FreshGrass Band contest in Bentonville, Arkansas. The huge honor guarantees them a recording session with Compass Records, something they are really looking forward to. They will also be performing in Chattanooga, TN at the IBMA Bluegrass Live Festival in September.
Restless Heart is available today to stream or download from your preferred online music provider.

About DownRiver Collective:

DownRiver Collective
Nashville, Tennessee based, DownRiver Collective formed as a three-piece folk group in 2018. Founding members banjo man John Gray and fiddle player Bailey Warren (nominated for 2024 IBMA Momentum Instrumentalist), have since been joined by vocalist Ali Vance (nominated for 2024 IBMA Momentum Vocalist), mandolinist Rico Wallenda and guitarist Jonny Therrien. All of the members are Belmont University alumni and though not everyone comes from a bluegrass background, they all share a deep respect and love for the genre.
DownRiver Collective blurs the lines between traditional folk and progressive acoustic music. The band continually draws on diverse backgrounds to create a fresh sound that at the same time, is familiar. There is a raw, simple truth in their original music that is delivered with such fiery passion, while maintaining a welcome composure that is so comforting. It is truly quite difficult to stop listening.
Their previous release this year was Come On Back.
The band is aggressively booking and enjoining a busy touring season including some fun stages like FreshGrass, Mohican Bluegrass Festival, Bill Monroe Bluegrass Festival, Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival, IBMA Bluegrass Live and more.
