For some time now we have been discussing the need for a genuine question and answer process where those new to bluegrass can ask questions regarding their bluegrass and old-time music interests. Of course one of the obstacles for this initiative has been finding someone who can genuinely pass for a bluegrass aficionado as well as an experienced musician, local bluegrass historian and all round nice guy.
Well noting all of that above, I can safely say we have stopped searching and have found the ideal person. His or Her name will be Ozzie J Picker. As a result we are kicking off a new category on AustralianBluegrass.com website to feature a Q&A style posting on a regular basis.
This column will be dedicated to every Australian bluegrass musician who wants to improve his or her craft – and live to play another day. We will call our intrepid picker, Ozzie J Picker. He is an Australian who has enjoyed more than 50 years of playing and singing bluegrass in Australia, as well as studying the long history of its roots. We can ask him ALMOST anything.
We have asked Ozzie to address the hands-on, Australian queries about playing the bluegrass, gigs, and all of the quirky things that go on in a bluegrass musician’s life, themes that never change over the years.
Awaiting your response. Please use the contact form on our website. Your question will be sent on to Ozzie for reply and subsequently published on our website.
