Rural Rhythm Records has announced the upcoming release of the new album, Portrait of a Bluegrass Songwriter by Ray Edwards, due 31st July 2012.
All songs were written or co-written by Ray who is joined by some of the top musicians in Bluegrass music including: Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Marty Raybon, Lou Reid, Darrell Webb, Grasstowne, Jeanette Williams, Nu-Blu, and more. The label recently released the first single “My Name Is Jimmy Martin (Do You Remember Me?)” that is now available on AirplayDirect.com.

Ray is a two-time World Champion Banjo Player. He has toured and recorded for over thirty years with the likes of Randy Travis, Tom T. Hall, Jeanie C. Riley, Ed Bruce, Lynn Anderson, Sammy Kershaw and many more. Ray’s songs have been recorded by George Jones, Tom T. Hall and others.
