Carolina Road founder and bandleader, Lorraine Jordan, has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year (Traditional) by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA).
Winners will be announced at the 39th Annual Bluegrass Music Awards during the SPBGMA
National Convention on Sunday,3rd February,2013. Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road are scheduled to perform at the event on Friday, 1st February 1,at 10:30pm and Saturday, 2nd February at 8:00pm.
Jordan was individually nominated in 2012 for Female Vocalist of the Year (Traditional) and Entertainer of the Year, and the Carolina Road Band received nominations for Gospel Group of the Year (Traditional) and Instrumental Group of the Year.
An accomplished mandolin player and vocalist, Jordan has performed bluegrass music for over twenty years and was a finalist in the IBMA Songwriting Showcase and 1st runner--up in the prestigious Chris Austin Song writing Contest at Merlefest. She formed Carolina Road in 1998 and is a co--founder of Daughters of Bluegrass.
