New Single From Lonesome River Band

Rural Rhythm Records has announced a new single release, Close the Door Lightly When You Go by Lonesome River Band from their upcoming album, Chronology, Volume One set for release on 28th February, 2012. The song was penned by Eric Anderson and includes the a-list talents of Sammy Shelor: (banjo); Randy Jones (lead Vocal, mandolin); Brandon Rickman (harmony vocal, guitar); Mike Hartgrove (fiddle); Barry Reed (harmony vocal, bass); and produced by Lonesome River Band.

The song is now available to radio via AirplayDirect.com and will be released this week on the label’s Fresh Cuts & Key Tracks radio CD.

To commemorate Lonesome River Band’s thirty year milestone, a special 30th anniversary retrospective collection titled Chronology will have the group recording 24 songs, to be released in a series of three 8-song EPs – one for each decade of the group’s existence. The material will lean heavily on updated versions of many of the LRB’s most popular songs during each decade, reprised by the current group. “Close The Door Lightly When You Go” is the first single for the first volume in the Chronology series.LRB-Chronology

Lonesome River Band has two previous albums on Rural Rhythm including their most recent album, Still Learning (2010),and their previous release, No Turning Back (2008). They were also involved in two live album projects for the label including: the recently released A Bill Monroe 100th Year Celebration – Live at Bean Blossom (2011), produced by Sammy Shelor; plus The All-Star Jam – Live at  Graves Mountain (2010), produced by Mark Newton, album that received four 2010 award nominations by the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) including a nomination for ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

Lonesome River Band remains in high demand for their live performances (watch video) where they continue to thrill audiences at concert halls, music festivals, Performing Arts Centers, TV shows, as well as their recent performance on the Grand Ole Opry.
