Known as the Mecca of Bluegrass, the Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground plays host to the oldest, continuous running bluegrass festival in the world. It is also the home of the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum.
Jim Peva, the long-time friend of Bill Monroe and a huge supporter of Bean Blossom and the Bean Blossom Jamboree Foundation has been so kind to share some of his favorite Bill Monroe photos.
Bill Monroe …was one of a kind, an original American poet of the rural south who wrote songs, many of which were autobiographical, and he left us with a great gift bluegrass music, which is nothing more nor less than an audible expression of his personality.
As an instrumentalist, bandleader, singer, and songwriter, whose professional career spanned 66 years, he may well have had the most all-around musical talent America has ever seen – Jim Peva.
