After more than ten years off the highway, acclaimed bluegrass band NewFound Road roars back onto the scene with the release of their dynamic new single, Need to Get Some Highway In. This new release was written by Thomas Cassell and Tim Stafford and marks the band’s first new music since 2013. This release is also the first glimpse of a highly anticipated new album due out in 2026 on Billy Blue Records.

The band features Jr. Williams on banjo and guitar; Joe Booher on mandolin; Jared Hensley on guitar and Sam Lauderbaugh on bass. NewFound Road is led by founding member and vocalist Tim Shelton.
Wanting to come out of the gate with a well-crafted, energetic, driving tune for the first new NewFound Road song in years, the first writer I reached out to was Tim Stafford. “Tim sent this song that he co-wrote with Thomas Cassell. I felt the groove immediately, and once we got in the studio and started playing it together as a band, I knew it was our first single. This song feels alive – Tim Shelton, band leader.
