Australia’s foremost bluegrass and old-time music festival has been cancelled due to ongoing uncertainty with Covid restrictions in various Australian states.
A Message From MountainGrass Committee:
It is with very heavy hearts that we must announce that we cannot go ahead with Mountaingrass again this year.
To run a successful festival, we rely on our wonderful performers, volunteers, sound crew, staff at the George Kerferd Hotel and dedicated patrons throughout Australasia. With COVID-19 case numbers rising, along with lockdowns and the travel restrictions impacting all of us, we cannot confidently go ahead with our plans. We must consider the health and safety of everyone involved in the festival and, unfortunately, there are just too many risks we cannot control.
We are incredibly sad about this, and we will miss you all very much. We know that you were looking forward to getting together at Beechworth this year, especially as we had to cancel last year too.
There are many of you who will have booked accommodation in and around Beechworth for the festival and you may now have to review your plans.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone associated with the festival for your ongoing support and encouragement.
We will continue to provide regular newsletters to you and will work towards a successful Mountaingrass on 18, 19 & 20 November 2022. Contracted performers for this year will receive separate notification from us – The Mountaingrass 2021 Committee.
