Madass Moves House

by | 17 Feb, 2009

Brisbane’s Madass Folk Club is now held each Thursday night at the Muddy Farmer Hotel in Annerley starting at 8pm – and admission is free.

This Thursday will see the group Quartermoon playing the new venue. They are Alison MacKenzie (mandolin), Gillian Smith (fiddle), John Hockings (banjo, guitar) and Michael Bourne (guitar).

Quartermoon come to you courtesy of ‘The Bramstons’ a large, loose-knit group of kitchen table crooners originally convened by Alan Mackey. There have been sightings of Quartermoon over the last year, at the Redlands Bluegrass Convention and the inaugural Nobby Festival, playing their eclectic collection of Old Timey and New Timey songs. This Thursday night they will play their hearts out for the Madass farewell concert.
