John Duffy
Just heard from Jan Dale who she is planning to feature the new John Duffy tribute album, Epilogue released by Smithsonian Folkways.
Jan will be interviewing the producer Atkira Otsuka (ex the Japanese band Bluegrass 45). He’ll be calling from U.S. during the Southern Style show.
Atkira Otsuka was a long time friend and collaborator with Duffy and even plays Duffey’s mandolin on this tribute album. He has a great many stories and the album is the culmination of years of labour.
The new album comes with a comprehensive 39 page booklet with track notes and an essay by Katy Daley and recollections by Dudley Connell. Many musicians took part incl. Dudley Connell, Sam Bush & Bela Fleck, John Cowan, Tim O’Brien, James King etc.
