Songwriter Louisa Branscomb is well-known for penning the hit Steel Rails, that is noted for being an influential song in Alison Krauss’ career, and inspiring a fresh generation of women to become bluegrass artists. Louisa’s influence in the industry comes not only from her creativity and unique approach to songwriting, but also as a skilled instrumentalist and singer.

There couldn’t be a more perfect match for this song than Jesse Brock. Jesse has a purity of music that takes the heart of bluegrass and makes it beat, as well as anybody I know. It’s a privilege to have this song by Geri Byrd and me in the hands of an artist of the talent and commitment that Jesse has. Adding a great band and great production from Sound Biscuit, and it’s a songwriter dream come true – Louisa Branscomb.

Winner of the 2009 & 2015 International Bluegrass Music Awards (IBMA) Mandolin Performer of the Year, Jesse Brock began his Bluegrass career with his family band at the age of nine. Since then, he has toured and recorded music with countless bands, including his IBMA award nominated solo record, Kickin Grass. He has become a sought after counterpart for any project.
