Regular Jam Sessioons

This is a list of jam sessions that we are aware of. If there are corrections to make or additions to the list please use our contact form to let us know.

South Australia

Adelaide:

The Bluegrass Jam for All on the first Sunday of each month from 2:30pm to 5:00pm at Semaphore RSL SA. Enquiries to Michael Murphy on 0427 601 517.

Queensland

Brisbane South:

Held the first Saturday of each month at Pinklands Sports Reserve, Cleveland – Redland Bay Road Thornlands.

Brisbane North:

Held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in “The Cubby” building in the grounds of Hills Church, 79 Queens Road, Everton Hills.  (Drive into the parking area, proceed down the hill, take the first turn to the right and park near the main church complex.  Walk past the administration building, past the toilets and through to the prefab building (“The Cubby”). Gold Coast Coast:

Gold Coast Acoustics Bluegrass Jam 7:00pm, 2nd Tuesday of the month at All Sports Community Club, Lawrence Drive, Nerang.Sunshine Coast Slow Jam – Last Saturday of the month 2:00pm to 4:00pm Mooloolah Valley. Use contact form for address and more details.

Victoria

Forrest:

Bluegrass Slow Jam at the Forrest Mens Shed on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.Warragul On hold. Contact Steve Jackson Ph 03 5623 5931 if interested.

Upwey:

Burrinja Arts Centre, 351 Glenfern Rd – The first Tuesday of the month.

Coburg:

Post Office Hotel,  Sydney Road.  Contact  Craig – Ph  03 8300-0111.

Geelong:

Bluegrass Pick – Held on the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Harvester Moon, 2320 Portarlington Rd Bellarine.

Melbourne:

The Old Bar, Johnston St in Fitzroy every Monday until the end of Oct, from 8.30pm to 11.30pm.

Newport:

The jam is held every second Monday, at Newport Community Hub at 13 Mason St. Newport, Victoria.

The jam runs from 7:30-9:30pm and the cost is $3.00 for members, $5.00 for non-members of Newport Fiddle and Folk Club.

Seaford:

Old time session, Seaford, Melbourne. Third Saturday of the month. Contact Bill 03 9783 9252 for details.

Aust Capital Territory

Braddon:

Bluegrass at Braddon every Tuesday at the Braddon Club from 7:30pm.

Canberra:

Held on the second Saturday of each month Jammalong in Canberra is held under the pergola beside Enid Lyons St on the lakeside of the Questacon Building.

New South Wales

Newcastle :

1st Monday of the month at Croatian Wickham Sports Club from 7:00pm.Gymea 4th Friday of the month (except December).

Gymea:

Trades Union Club from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Corner of Kingsway and Manchester Rd in Gymea. For more info ring Ian on 0438 830374 or Barb on 02 – 9525 9708.

Kembla Heights:

Bluegrass & Acoustic Country Music Night. 2nd Saturday each Month at Kembla Heights Hall, Harry Graham Drive. From 8:00pm. All Welcome (Ph. 02427-1029).

Thirroul:

3rd Saturday of the month at the Thirroul Railway Institute, Railway Parade Thirroul 7.30 pm – 11.30pm. Ph Mark on 02 4627 5786 for info.

Sydney:

First Saturday each month (Mar to Dec) at the Annandale Neighbourhood Centre, 79 Johnston St, Annandale.

Western Australia

Fremantle:

The second Wednesday of each month (excluding January) from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, at the North Fremantle Bowling Club which is at 8 Thompson St North Fremantle.

Hamilton Hill

Tom’s Bluegrass Slowjams
These are on the last Thursday of each month, 7.30 – 9.30 (pm) at The Hub 6163. 1 Starling Street, Hamilton Hill. Participation by donation (to help pay for venue hire) (suggested $5). Find us on Facebook.

Hilton

Sunday Morning Bluegrass Cafe Jams with “The Lost Cores”
Every Sunday morning, 9.30 to 11.30 at The Local Cafe, 36 Paget Street, Hilton (about 5 minutes from Fremantle). Song books provided. Find us on Facebook.

Manjimup:

First Saturday of the month, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Four Aces Lounge Bar,  Manjimup Hotel. Enquiries; 0450 687 656

Tasmania

Hobart:

Every Tuesday evening at the Bright Eyes Cafe on Brooke St Pier, Hobart. The jam runs from 7.o0pm to 9.30pm. All welcome, just walk in and look for the folks with instruments.
