In 2022, the IBMA established the International Band Performance Grant Program to assist international bands in attending the IBMA World of Bluegrass®, develop bluegrass events and audiences globally, and help increase opportunities for everyone involved in the music.
The 2023 grant recipient, Country Gongbang of South Korea, enjoyed great success at the 2023 IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh in the program’s second year, and IBMA has announced the third year of the IBMA International Band Performance Grant Program.
Applications are now open and will be open through November 30, 2023. IBMA’s International Band Performance Grant Steering Committee will then select the 2024 grant recipient at a later date.
The program is open to all non-U.S. bluegrass acts who wish to participate in IBMA World of Bluegrass® (September 24-28, 2024 in Raleigh, NC) and a subsequent tour in 2025. The IBMA International Band Performance Grant Program will provide a modest financial grant to the selected band traveling to the 2024 IBMA World of Bluegrass and help to establish a 2025 follow-up tour in the United States.
