From the upcoming album release of A Bill Monroe Celebration
Rural Rhythm Records has announced that the first single, Mighty Dark to Travel has been released to bluegrass radio via New Cuts of Bluegrass, Volume II and is now available via AirplayDirect.com. The song is from the upcoming album release, I’m Going Back To Old Kentucky (A Bill Monroe Celebration) by Audie Blaylock & Redline set for digital release on 17th May and physical release 31st May, 2011.
Mighty Dark to Travel, written by Bill Monroe, is performed by: Audie Blaylock on vocals and guitar; Patrick McAvinue on fiddle; Reed Jones on bass; Russ Carson on banjo with special guests: Bobby Osborne on vocals and Ronnie McCoury on mandolin.
Audie Blaylock and Redline, tipped to tour to Australia next year, have received great success with their two previous Rural Rhythm albums that included numerous #1’s on both single and album charts. The single, Cryin’ Heart Blues reached #1 on Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Song Chart (11th Jan) and Matches appeared in the #1 spot on Sirius-XM Radio Bluegrass Junction’s Top 40 Most Played Tracks (10th Nov). Both songs appear on the band’s 2010 album, Cryin’ Heart Blues.
Rural Rhythm also advises that Audie is receiving heavy radio exposure with his participation on the All-Star Jam – Live at Graves Mountain album and the current single Graves Mountain Memories now appearing on the Bluegrass Unlimited and Bluegrass Music Profiles charts. In addition, Audie recently recorded a duet of the Western classic Running Gun with Michael Martin Murphey which appears on Murphey’s Buckaroo Blue Grass II.
