Growing up in the Cana, Virginia, and Mt. Airy, North Carolina areas, I was exposed to the music of The Easter Brothers pretty early on in life. My parents were both fans of the music and had records and 8-track tapes of many bluegrass artists including the Easters. Their style was unique, and their message was clear! I had their sound in mind when writing down the words to the song ‘I Know He’ll Let Me In.’ I hope the style and message of the Easter Brothers come through when folks hear this song – Greg Jones.
Along with nominations from organizations such as the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America, The Churchmen have achieved significant success on the radio charts. This year, their single Heaven on My Mind reached #1 on the Bluegrass Today Gospel Chart along with their October 14, 2022 #1 hit, Shadow of the Cross which is the title track of their new album set for release in 2023.
The Churchmen are now on tour with members Keith Clark on bass and vocals, Greg Jones on mandolin and vocals, Carroll Arrnn on banjo and vocals, Jay Adams on guitar and vocals, and Christian Gillikin on fiddle.
