Here is a band from Oslo, Norway called Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra.
The group consists of fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, dobro and upright bass along with a somewhat unconventional addition accordion. The band provides some wonderful vocal harmonies to the mix.
Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra was formed in Oslo, Norway back in 2014. Since then the band has built a steady and sizable fanbase around their unique blend of Bluegrass, americana, folk, gospel, hymns and blues. A few hundred fans got the chance to experience this special performance by the band (see video below) in the intimate club stage John Dee.
Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra is set to release their first studio album “Migrants” due out March 5th 2021 featuring several songs played this evening.
The Group comprises:
Rebekka Nilsson – Vocals Joakim Borgen – Mandolin Ole Engrav – Guitar Magnus Eriksrud – Banjo |
Moa Meinich – Fiddle Jonas Olsen – Upright bass Emil Brattested – Dobro Sjur Marqvardsen – Accordion |
This band was introduced to me by one of our readers, and I thought it was worth sharing this on our website. It may will be the start of a new category on our home page called The Video Vault, where we present YouTube clips of bluegrass and Old-Time bands that you may or may not have seen or heard of.
