A New Festival Initiative for The Blueridge Mountains
Amidst a struggling industry of music festivals closing doors and locking gates all over the country, Wilson Pickins Promotions, along with The Hagood Historic Mill Site, generous investors, and sponsors, have announced a new music festival initiative to be held in the heart of the USA’s Blueridge Mountains.
Hagood Mill is located on Hagood Branch, earlier known as Jennings Creek, a tributary of the Twelve Mile River, in the Upstate mountain community of Pickens, South Carolina. The venue provides the perfect backdrop for a music festival, intertwined with a weekend of mountain adventures and brushing up on some of your southern roots and history.
About Grits ‘n Grass:
This new festival will provide not only some of the hottest bluegrass and roots entertainment in the industry today, but there will be camping available to truly enjoy the mountain surroundings, award-winning food truck and beverage options, local artisan and craft vendors, and workshops led by the areas top-notch musicians, but some of the band members from the main stage as well. Additionally, patrons will have the option to tour the historic Hagood Mill property including the cabins, barns, and ancient rock formations on site, walk the nature trails and peruse the on-site gift shop.
Bands scheduled to appear include The Grascals, Lonesome River Band, Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, Darren Nicholson Band, Wilson Banjo Co., Retro 78 and more. Many fun activities are to be added.
