Kristy Cox

Kristy Cox continues her reign as Australia’s Queen of Bluegrass with her back to back Toyota Golden Guitar Award of Australia wins.

Cox took out the 2020 Golden Guitar for Bluegrass Recording of The Year for her single, Yesterday’s Heartache, following on from her 2019 win in the same category for her acclaimed release, Ricochet.

I’m still in shock and just so thankful to the industry for their ongoing support of my music. I am so excited about this great song. It’s got attitude, it’s catchy and I love performing it. I love you guys – Kristy Cox.

OK Phil, you ask for. thoughts and here are my thoughts…. Kristy Cox has a great understanding of bluegrass music and she has a great bluegrass voice. Kristy has worked very hard on the US bluegrass scene and has had great album reviews there. At the present time Kristy Cox has the most requests for her tracks on the Sirius Bluegrass Radio Channel in the USA and that is a huge compliment to her in the bluegrass world. So we can be proud here on the Aussie bluegrass scene that Kristy Cox has gained her chops over the years on both American Bluegrass venues and here as well …. not only that she is a great ambassador for bluegrass music on the country music scene.

I believe that one gets their Bluegrass Chops in Australian Bluegrass by going and performing at Bluegrass and affiliated Venues. To take a tag and move on a different satellite and orbit country is not Bluegrass but just under the guise of Country trying to sound like such! That is only my opinion but would welcome others and thoughts!

Thanks Phil. Not sure I would agree. Even so, I am thrilled for her success both here and abroad.
