Entries now open for the 51st Golden Guitar Awards.
Entries are now open for the 51st Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) Golden Guitar Awards.
The Golden Guitars include a Bluegrass Recording of the Year category, and past winners of the award include Kristy Cox, The Davidson Brothers, The Weeping Willows, Angus Gill and Pete Denahy.
If you have an eligible track (see below) that you’d like to enter you’ll need to act fast, as entries close on 1st October 2022. To check all the eligibility requirements and to access the entry website here.
Eligible tracks must be new compositions (no covers), released commercially between 1st October 2021 and 30 September 2022. They must feature both vocal and instrumental elements and be clearly related in form, musical arrangement, instrumentation, and presentation to the traditional roots of bluegrass music as exemplified by pioneers such as Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs.
Entries are not limited to traditional bluegrass, but so-called progressive bluegrass styles must exhibit and build on an understanding of the genre.
Entrants in this category must be financial members of the Country Music Association of Australia and be Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. Join here.
