DownRiver Collective is giving listeners even more to love with the worldwide release of Give It All Away: Deluxe, now available. The expanded edition builds upon the award-winning band’s acclaimed Give It All Away era with new music, alternate interpretations, and another glimpse at the creative range that continues to set this young group apart.
Leading the release of Give It All Away Deluxe is the new single The Fool, a brand-new original, written by lead vocalist Ali Vance and banjoist John Gray. The Fool, puts DownRiver Collective’s greatest strengths front and centre with compelling songwriting, exceptional musicianship, unmistakable band chemistry, and Vance’s powerhouse lead vocal.

The Fool finds the group doing what it does best: taking the traditions at the heart of bluegrass and making them unmistakably their own. Vance commands the lead vocal, while Bailey Warren and John Gray supply harmony vocals that add depth and urgency to the performance. Warren’s fiddle, Gray’s banjo, Jonny Therrien’s guitar, Rico Wallenda’s mandolin, and Eli Broxham’s bass round out the full-band arrangement.
There is an undeniable confidence to the track, but underneath it lies the vulnerability suggested by its title. The Fool explores familiar emotional territory; that complicated space where the heart can overrule better judgment and knowing the risks doesn’t necessarily keep us from taking them.

June brought Paperboy, another original showcasing the storytelling, heart, and musicianship that have become hallmarks of the DownRiver Collective sound.
Together, those tracks and the newly released The Fool help turn Give It All Away: Deluxe into more than an expanded edition. That evolution follows a remarkable run for DownRiver Collective. The group captured widespread industry attention when it was named the 2024 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year. One year later, Vance returned to the Momentum Awards stage to accept 2025 IBMA Momentum Vocalist of the Year, giving DownRiver Collective back-to-back band and individual honors from the International Bluegrass Music Association.
