Contagious Community Spirit Chris Voce of Guitars Plus in Sandringham indicted in 2009 that he would be interested in attending the 2010 Girgarre Moosic Muster and providing an on-site music shop and repair facility for festival goers. In return he kindly donated some loan instruments that were used by beginners in various workshops.
Chris arrived on the Friday to set up his repair workbench and his musical instrument display. It was then that he caught the Girgarre Virus. That is the condition that draws you into the spirit that surrounds this event and makes you feel that you now are a member of that small Girgarre Community.
The weekend for him and his assistant was non-stop instrument repairs and sales. After the festival, Chris was pulled over on his way back to Melbourne by someone that attended the Moosic Muster. They had an instrument to repair and wanted Chris to do it…
Guitars Plus will once again be returning to Girgarre in 2011, to provide instrument repairs and sales and may even stay over for a few days to finish the repairs on-site. As well as this, Chris has again donated some more instruments and his band Gypsy Dogs will be performing on the Saturday night in the Town Hall.
