News from the USA reveals that the Gibson Guitar Company was served with a warrant by agents of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service who are looking for timber species that cannot be legally imported into the USA.
Gibson Guitar in a press release this week stated that it is fully cooperating with agents of the United States Fish & Wildlife Service regarding an issue with wood procurement.

Gibson Guitar makes every effort to ensure that all its wood purchases are legal and is also working to increase the amount of wood purchased from certified sources, including FSC-certified wood. The company will continue to cooperate fully and assist our federal government with all inquiries and information – Gibson Guitars.
The Tennessean reports that an international crackdown on the use of endangered woods from the world’s rain forests to make musical instruments bubbled over to Music City on Tuesday with a federal raid on Gibson Guitar ‘s manufacturing plant, but no arrests.
