A new music venue in Sydney’s Surry Hills called MoFo will host the launch of a new album by George Jackson – 28th October.
George Jackson is an exciting, young and energetic fourth generation fiddle player who has performed extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand. George is the current Australian Bluegrass Fiddle Champion, and was the 2010 winner of the Folk Alliance Australia Youth Award. George recorded this new album of all original compositions with local and international musicians, and explores many aspects of his playing and musical influences, from celtic inspired tunes, through bluegrass and solo fiddle to string ensembles. Supported at MoFo by long-time friend and musical collaborator Daniel Watkins.
MoFo is a brand new monthly venue, supported by the NSW Folk Federation, on the freshly refurbished ground floor of the NSW Teachers Federation House. Easily accessible from Central Station, and close to restaurants and pubs, MoFo is an exciting new venture, waiting to welcome you in and explore young Australian folk music.
Entry is only $5.00 for concessions and NSW Folk Federation members, and $8.00 for everyone else. Plus tea and coffee. The venue is not yet licensed and activities close at 10:30pm.
Venue is at 23-33 Mary Street, Surry Hills, Australia 2010.
