Here is a new new group emerging from the Gold Coast in Qld., the GC Bluegrass Pickers.
The GC Bluegrass Pickers is a group created for anyone with a passion for playing Bluegrass music on the Gold Coast, the hinterland or surrounding areas. The intention is to meet regularly, once they get some interested participants for some pickin, playing and singing. Where they meet is open, it maybe a park, by the river or wherever else is suitable, either indoors or out. Initially the meeting place could be in easy access to the majority at the time.
Visit their facebook page here.
The next event is set for 8th May at Tallowwood Park. It is a bluegrass jamming get-together in Tallowood Park, located in Rose Valley Drive, Upper Coomera. A beautiful park with shelters, tables, lake and toilet facilities. Bring a chair, lunch/morning tea or whatever you fancy. Don’t forget your instrument and a few songs. Organiser Richard Drew is looking forward to welcoming for a few hours or all day.
This will be the start of regular meetings and offers the chance to get to know one another No pressure to sing whatsoever, however we always offer encouragement to those who are keen to have a go. People who love Bluegrass but don’t play or sing and would like to join in the vibe are also very welcome – Richard Drew.
