Steve Wilson Moves Full Time To Wilson Banjo Co.
World-renowned banjo extraordinaire Steve Wilson is charging forward with the next chapter of his career. After spending over three years as a member of Deeper Shade of Blue, the South Carolina native is leaving the group to focus on his own critically-acclaimed band, Wilson Banjo Co.
Wilson Banjo Co. has experienced significant demand and growth over the last year, extending from their most recent album, Six Degrees of Separation. In addition to charting multiple No. 1 hits on the Roots Music Report charts, the Pinecastle Records recording artists have also made waves with their touring group. Each show revolves around the banjo playing of Wilson accompanied by Wilson Banjo Co.’s lead vocalist and fiddle player Sarah Logan. Fans can expect to hear a variety of different elements at future shows including must-see covers, along with original hits like When The Crow Comes Down and the latest single Holler, which is currently in rotation on SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction.
Last weekend alone they performed sold-out shows in Nashville, Tennessee at the legendary Station Inn, and in Suwanee, Georgia at Everetts Music Barn. They will return to the road this weekend for another performance in Pickens, S.C. at the Grits ‘N Grass Music Festival. They’ll be very busy in the weeks ahead, returning to Clifton, Ohio at the Clifton Opera House and IBMA’s World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, North Carolina in late September.
