News From Pinecastle Records
Pinecastle Records has just released the first single, Other Woman’s Blues from the upcoming album, The Blu Disc by Nu-Blu. The band is offering a free download of the song via their website at Nu-Blu.com.
Other Woman’s Blues was written by Kira Small and provides a unique twist on Dolly Parton’s hit song Jolene. The lyrics begin with Dear Dolly, it’s me Jolene and takes off from there with outstanding lead vocals by Nu-Blu member Carolyn Routh who is joined by Christy Reid (Lou Reid and Carolina) providing her beautiful harmony vocals. Nu-Blu members, Daniel Routh on guitar, Levi Austin on banjo, Kendall Gales on mandolin, are joined by special guest Rob Ickes on Dobro.
Nu-Blu celebrated significant chart success with their self-released debut album, Nights last year. The album received chart success on the Americana Music Charts, Euro Americana Chart, and Roots Music Report Bluegrass Top 50 Album chart, and named in WNCW Radio’s Top 50 Bluegrass Albums of 2010. Pinecastle Records released a single, Christmas in Dixie last November which was also a hit with radio stations as well.
Nu-Blu, the current reining Carolina Music Awards Country Band of the Year winner, has again been nominated by the organization. This year, the category has changed to also include Bluegrass and Americana music. Fans can cast their vote by visiting CarolinaMusicAwards.com
