Eddie Adcock Surgery Update

by | 19 Jan, 2011

News just in from Martha Adcock is that Eddie is out of surgery (for neck-wire replacement) yesterday evening, recuperating slowly today, and wants to thank everyone for their concern and prayers.

Eddie will need to undergo brain surgery again since replacing the battery last week.  “The sooner, the better,” Eddie says, while the Vanderbilt doctors and staff are in high gear to set it up and get him done a.s.a.p…

We saw x-ray of where the wire exits the top of his skull at a right angle, and it looks to me just like a guitar string whose winding broke over a too-high/sharp bridge saddle – Martha.

Eddie Adcock  played with the Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys until Monroe had to let him go because the band simply wasn’t earning enough money to employ him. Jim Cox, John Duffey, and Charlie Waller asked him to join their new band, the now legendary Country Gentlemen. Eddie now performs almost exclusively with his wife Martha and calls Nashville his home.
