The Bellingin Courier Sun has run a story on this weeks Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival featuring a hiost of performers including Bluegrass Parkway, The Bushwackers, Coolgrass, Ami Williamson, Dear Orphans, Spot the Dog, Ewan MacKenzie Duo, Present Company, Hunter and Suzy Owens, Slickville Pickers, My T Fine String Band, Gary Brown to name but a small few.
This year’s Dorrigo Festival looks like being a great celebration. As in earlier years, across the entire weekend there will be concerts and more intimate performances, workshops covering all sorts of instruments, fun for kids, delicious food and a great atmosphere. The main venue is the Dorrigo Showgrounds where on-site camping is also available. And luckily, the main venues for performances and workshops are totally undercover.
As she does every year, artistic director Bridget Sommers puts together a fantastic program featuring some of the best home-grown talent in both the Folk and Bluegrass genres. There are many people who return to Dorrigo every year for this Festival because of the great atmosphere, the opportunity to jam with fantastic musicians under a shady tree, and to listen to & enjoy the music – Courier Sun.
