Jan Dale To Present a Doc Watson Special.
Starting October 8th is part 1 of Legacy a three CD series featuring Doc Watson being interviewed by and performing with David Holt. On this first interview Doc talks about his early years growing up blind, his early musical incfuences. In between chats Doc and David will be playing some of Doc’s classic songs together.
On October 15th will feature part 2 in which Doc looks back over his career and the following week (October 22) the series will conclude with The Legacy Concert in which Doc & David perform a live concert. Each part is about 50 minutes so there will be plenty of other music included on each show, as usual.
November 12th – The Tone Rangers (Canada) will be playing a set live to air on Southern Style. They are Toronto’s preeminent Bluegrass band and are touring in Australia including performing at MountainGrass. They are – Andrew Collins on mandolin, guitar & vocals; James McEleney on bass, mandolin and guitar; Chris Quinn on banjo and guitarm and Ben Plotnik on fiddle and guitar. Both Andrew Collins & Chris Quinn were with The Hoggy Hogtown Boys and Creaking Tree String Quartet) The others are also well known Canadian musicians.
