Cryin’ Heart Blues by Audie Blaylock and Redline

by | 8 Dec, 2010

Audie Blaylock and Redline’s new album Cryin’ Heart Blues is among other things easy listening.

Blaylock’s voice is smooth and all embracing, giving us a contemporary bluegrass album with some of the best pickers you’ll hear in a bluegrass band. Redline features Evan Ward on banjo, Patrick McAvinue on fiddle and mandolin, Matt Wallace on bass and of course Audie Blaylock on guitar.

Audie Blaylock may well be one of the top dogs on the bluegrass scene today. It’s little wonder he is held in such esteem, after cutting his teeth picking with Jimmy Martin as a young bloke and then going on to play with the Queen of Bluegrass Rhonda Vincent & the Rage.

This CD has some hard-driving bluegrass and some soft, sweet and gentle ballads, all with strong harmonies and cracking instrumental support. This is the best recorded work that Blaylock and his band has yet produced.

This album is well worth a look and listen and should be a part of your collection.
