by | 2 Feb, 2011

Bluegrass legend Curly Seckler is featured in this months Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, which hits the stands this week.

The article, written by bluegrass expert Gary Reid, summarizes Seckler’s recent activities and includes photos taken at Curly’s performance at the Country Music Hall of Fame on 4th December last year.

Seckler recently celebrated his 91st birthday and his 75th anniversary in music.  In an interview last month on Sirius XM Radio, host Kyle Cantrell referred to Curly as “The Iron Man of Bluegrass”.

Curly suffered a minor setback last week, when an adverse reaction to some medication forced him to cancel an appearance with The Steep Canyon Rangers at their 10th Anniversary Celebration in Asheville, North Carolina.  However, he is recovering well and looking forward to some performance dates later in the year.

This week Seckler joined his friend Marty Stuart on a taping for The Marty Stuart Show on RFD-TV.  The program is tentatively scheduled to air on 25th June 2011.  Check local listings for the air time and date in your area.

A reminder from Curley, you may still view video of his performance at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
