In their recent gig at The Merry Muse, Perth-based quintet Bluegrass Parkway not only paid generous tribute to their bluegrass forbears but also showcased their consummate musical skills. They wear their experience of 22 years together with ease and confidence, and effortlessly drew the appreciative audience into their world.

As always, Bluegrass Parkway performed clustered around a single vintage-style radio microphone, but this is not mere pastiche or affectation. Instead, it allows the members to demonstrate a combination of group balance and individual solo skills – and employ deft choreography.
