Rural Rhythm Records has announced Blue Moon Rising’s first single, Time To Be Movin’ On, is the #1 Song on the Sirius-XM Bluegrass Junction’s Top 40 Most-Played Tracks. The album, Strange New World is also appearing at #5 on the Sirius-XM Bluegrass Junction Top 40 Most-Played Album charts this month.
They are an exceptionally talented bunch of guys with a vision for great bluegrass making Strange New World one of the best CDs I’ve heard all year – Kyle Cantrell, Sirius-XM Radio.
Time To Be Movin’ On, the first release from the Strange New World CD by Blue Moon Rising, really sets the tone for this great project and it is at the top of my list of Top 20 New Songs for 2010 – Charlie Hall, WCYO FM Radio.
Another track from the album, Living Water has been receiving airplay from a number of radio stations and has appeared on the WBTX Radio’s Top 20 Playlist this month. Living Water is an original song by Blue Moon Rising member, Chris West. This track was also recorded by his good friends and label mates, Brand New Strings and appears on their No Strings Attached album also released this year.
Strange New World includes the talents of Blue Moon Rising members: Chris West on guitar and vocals; Brandon Bostic on mandolin and vocals; Tony Mowell on bass and vocals; Owen Piatt on banjo. Other guests include, Tim Crouch on fiddle and Randy Kohrs on Dobro. The CD combines a very eclectic mix of new original material with West contributing 7 of the 13 tracks. Other writers include: Brandon Bostic, Mike Dekle, Kevin Denney, Becky Buller, Jon Weisberger/Jeremy Garrett and Clint Wilson.
