Bill Harrell Passes

Bluegrass pioneer, Bill Harrell, has passed away.

News from his home in Davidsonville, Maryland USA this week, is that he succumbed to cancer amid other health problems.

Bill started his own band in the 1960’s called the Virginians, he was a bluegrass figure for more than 50 years and was most remembered from his time with Don Reno. However, he also played guitar with other music legends such as Eddie Adcock, Smiley Hobbs, Stoney Edwards, Smitty Irvin, Carl Nelson, Roy Self.
