New Single From East Nash Grass: Bend In The Road,

East Nash Grass is sharing a vibrant new cut with Bend in the Road, a song that leans into homegrown roots, road stories, and the kind of songwriting that only comes from living it.

Bend In The RoadWritten by band members Harry Clark and Cory Walker, Bend in the Road started as a slow-burn idea and found its groove the way the best songs often do, with patience, a little humour, and a nod to family history.

Cory and I had been working on Bend in the Road for a while. We had a first verse and some other stuff about Granny Women and Worm Dirt, but no cradle for to rock that sweet baby.

As luck wouldn’t have it any other way, I had written a whole bunch of verses down to songs with no melody. The kind of stuff you tuck away for a rainy day. Several, in particular, about my grandmother and her family driving to California from Arkansas in the mid 1940’s. After eating so much shortening bread and turtle soup that we thought we would perish, we relapsed into a state of pure bloated bliss and were blessed with this dirty ditty about our hometown of Madison, Tennessee – Harry Clark.

Bend in the Road keeps things loose but purposeful, with that signature East Nash Grass feel; a tight band of pickers with sharp ears and a shared love of bluegrass that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s the second single from their forthcoming album, All God’s Children, releasing everywhere from 22nd August.

This new release is now streaming on all major platforms. To learn more about East Nash Grass, including their tour schedule and upcoming releases, visit the band’s website.

About East Nash Grass:

Based in Madison, TN, East Nash Grass is one of Nashville’s most respected bluegrass bands, blending top-tier musicianship with a relaxed, good-time energy that fans love. Their sound is rooted but fresh, and they bring a unique perspective to every tune they write and play.

East Nash GrassThis group displays the best that bluegrass has to offer. Exemplified by being named the 2024 IBMA New Artist of the Year.

The band comprises talented singers, instrumentalists, and composers delivering a sound that is East Nash Grass. They include Harry Clark on mandolin, Cory Walker on 5-string banjo, James Kee on acoustic guitar, Maddie Denton on fiddle and Jeff Partin on bass and on Dobro. Previous releases include I Almost Told Her and Scarlet Iris.

Out of the Wilds of East Nashville came this band of ringers, each of them playing in National high profile Bluegrass bands. The sound they make when they play together rivals that of any of their main gigs. Who knows, but I heard them as a finely tuned machine that could survive on its own. The National high profilers better hang on tight! East Nash Grass is on the move – Jerry Douglas.
